Emily Bickell  -

Emily Bickell grew up in Whitby, on the shore of Lake Ontario, Canada. In 1998 she received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts with a studio specialization in painting and printmaking from the University of Waterloo.


A life-long fascination with nature informs Emily's work. Her oil paintings of water float between abstraction and realism. The beauty of Nymphaea, with their inner light contrasting against dark and mysterious water, inspires her water lily paintings. Her travels around the National, Provincial and Regional parks of Canada, as well as her travels abroad, provide endless inspiration.


Emily exhibits her paintings in southern Ontario and in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, and also in Switzerland.
