My current series of abstracted florals resulted form a spontaneous burst of energy that needed to be expressed brightly, directly and without hesitation. The vivid colours, textures and vigorous mark-making come in contrast to my previous series of non objective abstractions

While the non-objective abstracts came form deep introspection, the current florals are a direct expression, an immediacy from my heart and soul. Although this is essentially a personal expression, it nevertheless finds universal appeal.  One’s soul responds to joy, its innate state, and colour is an element that helps nourish and invigorate our souls.

In using the simplicity and beauty of flowers, it is my hope that these expressions will resonate within each viewer and be used as springboards to explore their own wonder, beauty and joy, precious qualities that lie within all of our souls.
